(In the end..) Steven Universe/Steven Universe Future Review

In the end.....it's time for me to review "Steven Universe/Steven Universe Future"  (spoilers...you've be warned)

Now here's how I'm going to review this:

#1 Overall thoughts on the  story plot?
#2 Overall thoughts on the characters?
#3 Overall thoughts on the scenary & music?
#4 Do I think it deserves another season? Or no?

Just four simple Q's for myself.

(Side Note: This show has been a true roller coaster ride for me & probably for everyone else. But it was a great journey that had a very emotional but heartfelt end. Steven & the gems will be missed.)

The plot should seem pretty simple. Steven now a teenager, no more threats, & him living up the best life with the gems. And all the gems he managed to help. We we're all hooping this would be more of a fun, happy, exciting season right? Well wrong.
This season was a HUGE AWAKE UP CALL. Not just for Steven but even the viewers. For it touches on some pretty sensitive topics that some shows talk about but might sweep under the rug.
Anxiety, depression, self hate, & feeling lost of what to even do with yourself,

That's what this season is truly about: Fighting Your Past Demons & Current Ones.

Just watching each episode I honestly had hope things would get better for Steven. But instead it kept knocking him back down with new problems or a new realization on something he never noticed before. Change. Everyone has to grow up sometime, everyone has to move on, & everyone has to follow there own passions. But for Steven, he felt stuck & out of place.

Because of all this negativity & with the mind frame set that "I fixed things before, I can do it again! No matter how much I mess up!" Yet even having that mentality isn't good at all. For it just effected him & the people around him! Which resulted to the point of him turning into what he thinks he is: A MONSTER.

Took a lot of hard work & fighting to get Steven back. No he isn't cured but they at least got him back to where he can be him. And figure things out for himself. Even if that means he has to leave home to find himself & what he wants truly out of life.

(Watching Steven suffer reminded me of myself...it hurts to see it but its also a reassurance that I'm not alone in my own fight. )

From Steven Universe to Steven Universe Future there is a tone of character development from everyone! Literally!

The Diamonds have went from using there powers for vile things to doing something good. To help with gems they harmed in the past.

Garnet will always be Garnet, but she's more loving & motherly then ever. And even though the future isn't certain she still tries to be helpful.

Pearl is more accepting of others & doing better with dealing with all she went through with Pink Diamond. When she was being in denial about Pink's temper but knew she couldn't hide the fact that Pink had her moments.

Amethyst is still the lovely goofball we all know. But is more accepting of herself & loves to help others with there problems more. She found her calling with teaching in Little Home School.

Greg is forever best dad. But I do wish he revealed things a bit sooner to Steven. Like about his real last name & where their last name came from. Although, I guess since Steven was older he felt like he would understand & he's always there to listen to Steven if need me.

Bismuth surprised me. From wanting to smash gems to wanting to use her skills to make armor. An of course falling for Pearl, didn't see that coming.

Lapis has truly evolved from her violent nature to a more kind & caring gem. She did also go through that apathetic phase when she was trapped under water with Jasper; she's being more artistic & a great roommate to Peridot.

Peridot is my spirit animal when it comes to fangirling over a TV Series. I love her! And glad she doesn't want to do dark deeds either, since her past self did try to kidnap Steven, Ruby, & Sapphire. Since she stayed on earth she learned more about the wonders this planet has to offer, a new ability she didn't know she had, & having an awesome roommate like Lapis.

Jasper is one tough cookie. Always wanting to follow orders & not follow the crowd. But do there own thing & I respect that. Even though it took Steven to shatter there gem for Jasper to respect him. Jasper did have a change..sort of. But at least we know Jasper will be on Steven's since if he ever needs them.

(I may have said her or there or them to describe the gems. Because the gems technically don't have a gender..if I'm recalling correctly from what Rebecca Sugar said. I'll look it up later.)

Connie. I'm so proud of her. Even though she was getting on and off action when it came to the gems. She was literally Steven's one true friend & now girlfriend. Happy she's focused on her studies & doing college prep but still being their for Steven & the gems. She's a keeper Steven.

Now lastly, the main man of the hour, Steven. This boy has been through so much. From not knowing who he was, to not knowing who his mother is, a war, on and off fights, mental & emotional battles, gems being poofed of shattered, etc. Just physical, mental, emotional trauma since childhood that's effecting his teen years. His life is a roller coaster & it will keep being a roller coaster. He's not alone though..even though he feels like it. He has a family on Earth & on Gem World whenever he needs them. Breath Steven, they got you.

The visuals never disappoint with this show. The animation seems to get more magical each episode. No matter the place there in, its beautiful. As for the music, I still want the records of each season.

All the songs really do hit home for you. They can uplift you, make you think, or even cry. But in the end, each song makes you feel good. The power of music is strong in this series.

No. This is it.
The series is finally over. All I want to see now is all the amazing fanart & fanfiction stories of how people think everyone is living there lives now.

Farwell Steven, an safe travels to you my friend.
